How to Check Absconding Status in UAE
The Absconding is a term used for UAE Expatriates who run away from their work without prior notice. If an employee does not report at the workplace for seven days without a valid reason, the employer can file an Absconding Case against such an employee.

Method-1: Absconding Status Check at MOHRE Website
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) provides an online facility to check Absconding Status for UAE Expats. If you want to know your Absconding Status Online then you need to visit MOHRE official website and follow the steps given below.
1. Go to MOHRE official website portal @www.mohre.gov.ae.
2. Choose Services Section and click on New Enquiry Services option.
3. Click on Choose a Service tab and select Abscond Approval or Absconding Withdraw Cancellation Document option.
4. In the second tab, you need to enter the Transaction Number.
5. In the last box, enter the security code as shown in picture.
6. Click on Search to know your Absconding Status.
7. Your Absconding Status will appear on screen.
Method-2: Absconding Status Check at Emirates Smart Service Website
The Emirates Smart Service is useful for Emirates ID and Visa related services. It also provides an option for paying leave permit fees. If the website does not allow you to pay that fees then you have an Active Absconding Case in UAE. Follow the steps given below to learn more.
1. Visit Emirates Smart Service Website @icp.gov.ae.
2. Go to Services and select E-Channel Services.
3. Select Sign in with UAE PASS or provide your email and password to sign in.
4. Find out the option Collect the Leave Permit Fees and click on it.
5. Enter your date of birth and choose your nationality.
6. Click on Next button to proceed.
7. If you see a message as Person Cannot Pay This Fine then you have an Active Absconding Case from your employer.
8. If you do not see any message and you are allowed to pay the fees/fine then you do not have any Absconding Case.
Method-3: Absconding Status Check at the Police Station
You can visit any nearby police station to check your Absconding Status. You need to provide your Emirates ID, Employment Contract, Last Salary Slip as well as Passport and Residence Visa to the police officer.
The police officer will check Absconding Status for you and also guide you about how to clear this status. If you are innocent or the absconding case is not ethical, you should talk to your employer.
In case your employer does not revoke the Absconding Case, you can contact UAE Labour Department to get help. You can also consult a lawyer to help you get out of the Absconding Case ASAP.
