Looking forward to new travel adventures is sometimes as fun as the actual adventure. But what about after the holiday? Well, you recall the memories by storing and displaying your photos. We’ve put together some tips and inspiration on what to do with your travel photos so they don’t stay on your phone or camera forever.
1. Create Travel album
A travel album is a great way to record all your favorite holiday photos and all the experiences that happened.
How to create a travel photo album
- choose your favorite photos – choose lots of them so you have a large selection
- upload your photos to be printed – choose different formats so that each page is different from the last
- get a photo album, photo mounting corners, washi tapes or photo glue and some stickers
- when everything arrives, try to arrange your photos and other bits and pieces on each page to plan everything out (you can find inspiration on Pinterest for example)
- when you’re happy with your plan, start gluing
- add handwritten labels, drawings and decorative stickers
- then enjoy and show off your creation to your friends
2. Record your memories as you go in travel journal
What’s the difference between a photo album and journal? Well, a photo album is usually filled after you come back from the trip, however a travel journal travels with you so you can record memories on the go. We recommend getting a smaller album that you carry in your backpack everywhere you go while traveling. You can write notes and record experiences as you go and leave room on each page for photos to insert later when you come back. That way you won’t forget any special moments.
3. Photos photos photos photos
A travel album wouldn’t be an album without photos. We recommend printing a mix of different photo formats so that every page is different and you always manage to fill every space. So choose a few classic photo formats, but you can also try retro polaroid photos to bring in some charm. We recommend printing your best shots of nature and monuments but also make some room for photos capturing little moments.
4. Tell a story with a photo book
If you don’t feel like spending time on creating a photo album, gluing photos and writing captions by hand, try photo books. They are very simple and quick to make because you can create everything on your computer. Often, templates will also help you, so you don’t have to think hard about how to position your photos and captions. A photo book is a great way to revisit photos often or to show beautiful experiences to family and friends.
TIP: Have your photo book printed multiple times and give extra copies to friends and acquaintances who were on holiday with you.
5. Create a gallery of all experiences
Who would like to have pictures with random images on their walls at home.
