Can Fazeal Social Media App Make a Breakthrough?

While everyone was confused why Elon Musk was playing with the Twitter (cough* X) reputation, a new social media platform was born. Fazeal Social App was launched in July 2023 with an aim to stand with giants like Facebook, X, Instagram, and others. But does it have the potential of becoming the new recreational spot for people, or will it end up like Threads? Let’s Discuss!

A Platform Searching Grounds

Although the app surfaced recently in this year’s July, its initial stone was laid years ago (not that far). The owner, Khaled Saleh, started working on the project before 2020, but he felt the need to register his company during COVID-19 times. The new social media platform remained in the beta phase for the first two years, where its developers tested and fixed bugs. I’m not saying it has become error-free, but Fazeal has become —operable.

As soon as things got well and the application was created, it launched on both application stores, i.e., Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the initial reception of the app is slow. Yes, people are joining. I often observe a new face (in Sketches) after a week or two. But the frequency is too low.

It is also understandable since no one knows about the platform, yet. But if people are slowly registering on the platform, I think they will eventually establish a community.

A Man With Vision?

Khaled started Fazeal solely with the aim of competing with the giants. But it will be a matter of time how successful he is on the mission. Anyway, the vision of providing an all-in-one platform with combined features of several channels is quite unique (and impressive).

I’ve been testing the application for a few weeks and have pretty much liked the concept. Fazeal has merged tweeting, posting, news, business, reels, stories, hence all the possible and popular aspects that incentivize people to stay on social media apps under one application. 

Mr. Saleh has built this empire on his own, funding the whole project from his pocket. Several startups get a boost after any funding aid or monetary tonic. But he might be confident enough in his vision, so he is putting it all to make the project a reality. We’ll find it out in a couple of years (at least we can give it a shot for that long).

All is Not Green

While the performance of the application (till now) has been good, it is not the perfect one. The app still has some flaws that the team should address as soon as possible.

During my exploration, I saw a section of games. Like Facebook, it allows you to play online games on the application. It is indeed a great thing to kill time, but only if the games actually run. Whenever I tried to tap on a game, it showed an error message.

Maybe they are not uploaded on the server yet, or the integration is incomplete. Even though it won’t make much difference, as people usually have games on their phones, the error leaves a bad experience.

Besides that, I didn’t find any other error or bug. But one thing that still bugs me is the limitations on their pricing plans. Fazeal offers several subscription charges, which I don’t object to. They have to make money, after all. However, the limits on primary areas are unorthodox.

For instance, the free version allows you to either participate or create in one group only. You can increase the limit with other plans, but they increase to just two or three. The specific Groups Plan allows joining only 8 groups, while the maximum allowance of joining or creating 10 groups is available in the Ultimate Plan. It will be better if they increase this limit even higher or more.

The High Stakes

The idea behind the concept is great, and the vision is also big. But at the same time, Khaled has high stakes in the project. Fazeal’s competition is with the big guns in the industry: Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest (probably), and others. This platform has to work hard or offer something out of the box to grab the attention.

We’ve seen Snapchat make its way into the grid by offering camera lenses and (significantly) stories. On the other hand, TikTok also got a boost by offering a concept of short videos. Well, sharing videos was not new since FB, Twitter, and Insta are built on that model, and YouTube (inarguably) was the pioneer. But the way TikTok presented it makes it unique and eventually popular.

Fazeal by now, is attracting appeal by combining all the features and concepts. However, Threads are the evidence that you need to play unpredictably. Otherwise, even the back support of a big name won’t be enough. In this context, the debate can elongate since Instagram took Snapchat’s story concept and still prospers. But you might have got my point.

Possibilities & Potential

Even though the competition is utterly challenging, and the application is running on some loopholes, Fazeal still has the potential to land an impact. While the idea seems solid yet risky, it can turn out to be its strongest point. The fact that people always want to try something new can also work for the company.

We’ve seen it in Threads, where people rushed when it launched. Even though they have Twitter for the same purpose, people want to try what’s new about it. That’s a different story about how they lost the golden opportunity after that immense popularity. If Fazeal doesn’t repeat the same mistake and successfully gives people what they expect, the giants may get some competition.

Future Prospect

All and all, the deliverance of Fazeal looks promising. Although the platform has few users, which is boring for now, it may eventually become a great app. All it takes is to repair all the bugs, market well, and fill the void others haven’t even touched yet. If it all goes well, Fazeal may make a breakthrough. Until then, we’ll have to wait and watch (maybe join it too for a while).
