Even 15 years ago, most of the cargo was delivered to the port, airport or railway junction. In order to transport cargo to their warehouse, office or manufacturing department, the recipients had to look for transport on their own. This increased the transportation time and the transportation cost, and just caused inconvenience. A door-to-door transportation made things better.
It assumes that the recipients receive the cargo literally “in their hands”, which is cost-minimising and allows for the continuity of manufacturing processes.
What are the advantages of this transportation method?
1. This is convenient.
Firstly, the transport and logistics company assumes the responsibilities for cargo transportation (including from the port or the airport to your warehouse). All the recipient needs is to wait for delivery and pick up the goods.

2. This is fast.
Typically, door-to-door transportation is carried out by road. When it comes to short distances, this is the optimal option to transport cargo fast. It is not surprising that this type of transportation is often used for express delivery.
Remember that the machines do not commit to the schedule of ports or airports. They are not as much affected by weather conditions as aircraft or sea vessels. The car can move at any time and in almost any weather. However, there are exceptions such as heavy rain, snow storm, black ice.
3. This is advantageous.
Specialists of the transport and logistics company calculate the cost of delivery during its registration, taking into account the distance, destination, etc. This allows the consignor to accurately calculate the budget and manage the financial flows of its company effectively.
