Briston Priory is a 12th-century monastery located in the town of Briston, in the English county of Devon. It has been designated as a Grade I listed building, and is one of the most important religious complexes in Dartmoor. The priory was founded by Ranulf de Blois, 1st Earl of Chester, in 1127 as a Benedictine priory. It became a Cistercian monastery in 1185. The priory was damaged during the English Civil War (1642-1646), but subsequently underwent restoration. Briston Priory was closed in 1539, but reopened as a secular institution in 1547.
