Logan, Utah – July 31, 2025 – SmartScout, an analytics firm specializing in Amazon marketplace intelligence, is rolling out significant updates to its software platform and releasing a new survey that underscores both the potential and pitfalls of selling on the world’s largest e-commerce site.
The Voice of the Amazon Seller 2025 report, based on responses from 325 sellers, captures the mood of a marketplace in flux — where rising fees, policy changes, and AI-powered features are reshaping the business of online retail.
Alongside the report, SmartScout has enhanced its platform with new data tools, faster interfaces, and more advanced visual analysis capabilities, all aimed at giving sellers sharper market visibility.
AI-Powered Features Get a Boost
Three core modules — Scope, SellerMap, and a suite of AI-driven tools — have been the focus of SmartScout’s latest upgrades.
Scope now provides more extensive historical revenue tracking and expanded filtering options, making it possible to compare performance by seller type, subcategory, or geographic region.
SellerMap’s new heatmaps and seller-type filters add a layer of visual intelligence, allowing users to see where competition is concentrated and where opportunities may be emerging.
Popular add-ons such as Ad Spy, Keyword Detective, Traffic Graph, and Listing Architect have been rebuilt for speed and ease of use. The FBA Calculator, a mainstay for understanding profit margins, now incorporates Amazon’s latest fees and shipping costs.
“Our users want data they can trust and act on,” the SmartScout product team said. “These updates are built around their feedback and our goal to make e-commerce data more useful, visual, and easy to work with.”
Survey Results: A Complex Marketplace
SmartScout’s 2025 seller survey suggests that for many sellers, the path to growth is getting steeper.
Over 50% saw profitability decline in 2024, despite 67% raising prices to counter rising FBA fees.
Mid-sized sellers earning between $100,000 and $1 million were most likely to face account suspensions, with 35% reporting disruptions.
AI features from Amazon drew mixed reviews: 15.6% reported benefits, while 16.6% saw a negative impact.
“The survey confirms what many sellers have been the feeling—Amazon is the changing quickly, or it’s becoming harder to the stay profitable without deep, strategic insight,” report stated.

SmartScout’s platform processes tens of millions of product listings, updating constantly to reflect changing prices, inventory, and competition.
