Upper Mustang trek: The people and culture of this isolated trans-Himalayan mountain region, which shares borders with Tibet, are distinctly Tibetan, as is the arid landscape of towering cliffs and strangely shaped and colored rocks. Starting in Kagbeni, the entry point to Upper Mustang, and trek to Lo-Manthang via a desolate area under the Dhaulagiri massif’s shadow. Witness the caves, unusual rock formations, century old monasteries, and gompa to gain insight into the way of life and culture of the residents of the area.
