Before the accident, Rachel Stone was a Health and Physical Education teacher at Lee’s Summit High School. However, she lost her life on Thursday, February 16. This was an unfortunate event that took place on the U.S. 50 Highway after a tractor-trailer lethally collided with her vehicle.

It was on a Thursday morning when the Jackson County Sheriff’s office received a call coming from the highway patrol. They were trying to seek assistance based on a serious crash that took place right at the intersection of 7 Highway and U.S. 50 Highway.
One of the already available reports is that the road was slippery, causing the tractor-trailer to lose control, thus the accident. Once the accident occurred, Kari Harrison, the principal of Lee’s Summit High School, passed the sad news through email to the staff members and parents. Within the email, the principal indicated that Rachel Stone was a focused and talented educator who would be seriously missed within the LSR7 community. This was so hard for the parents and staff members to take owing to the close bond Rachel Stone had created with them.
Further, the email indicated that Rachel Stone also served as the assistant coach to the school’s volleyball team. At the time of her demise, her husband, Scott Stone, was a teacher at Bernard Campbell Middle School.
Due to the deepness and significance of her relationship with everyone at the school, the principal` indicated in the email that such sad news was hard to relay and that many people would find it hard to accept that she is no more. To show support, the school organized district leaders and counselors to assist those affected by the tragedy.

The accident impacted people beyond her immediate cycle, and we only hope that they find it in their hearts to accept this hard fact.
Individuals in the neighborhood expressed their shock when they heard of the collision that took the life of someone who supported them in many ways. She had made a lasting mark on the soccer team, and many students look up to her for their success in athletics.

Rachel Stone is now gone, but there’re so many things with which she can be remembered. Besides being a devoted teacher, Rachel took part in many activities that shaped the community and individuals around her. At least she had left behind a strong legacy that many can still drink from. Also, from her demise, we can see how fragile life can be. Thus, even as we live, it helps to remember to remind the people around us how much we love them. This can strengthen our relationship with them now and even in death.
