No, right? But, printing technology has made it possible. No matter what type of document you make, you can print it on paper and touch it using printing technology.

The print has different types, and the best type of printing that not most people know about is Sublimation. What is Sublimation Printers? Don’t worry; This article will tell you about this thing only.

So make sure to stick with me till the end of this piece of writing to get the answers to your questions.

What is Sublimation printing?

Sublimation is the most common way  of printing used to transfer a design from the paper of sublimation onto a chunk of fabric or any material of polyester by making use of heat(between 350–400 degrees). Like printing designs on, a cup, mug, glass, pens, e.t.c,

This is an easy and cost-friendly way to print any design you want on your products. You must have seen cups with some different designs and texts on them, so these are most likely created by using this method of printing.

Also, the shirts are printed using the Sublimation method. Now you must be thinking that You’ve already seen these designs, but you didn’t know that they are made by this printing method.

If so, then you’re not alone. I have been using a cup with my name on it, but I didn’t know either that it’s designed by this method. This method of printing started getting value over the past few years.

However, it’s not like other methods that you just need a printer to start printing your designs. It is like a skill that you need to learn for creating sublimation prints.

1) Can you sublime onto anything?

To get the best results, it’s better only to use it on polyester materials. Any product with a polyester coating, like a mug, cup, coasters, mouse pads, e.t.c, Sublimation, will work significantly on them.

Does it mean that you can’t print using Sublimation on other material? In some cases, you can print on glass material also, but the glass should be made up of normal material.

2) Can a Sublimation printer print white?

Nope, it can’t. There are no colour inks that can produce the colour white or any lighter colour. However, if you want, you can print onto white material or any lighter colour you want to. But, if your design has white colour in it, the Sublimation won’t work.

3) Is Sublimation better than screen printing?

It’s difficult to declare one better than the other as both of the methods of printing are long-lasting, don’t fade over time, don’t crack even when you keep washing them.

Nevertheless, each way has its separate and unique benefits. So, if you want to know the difference between both printing methods, read on the following mentioned factors.

4) Size of the order

These are the factors you have to put a lot of your focus on. Indeed, the higher volume means, the more affordable it will be for screen printing.

If you’re a company that gets tons of orders, then Sublimation might not help you so effectively as it’s pretty time-consuming. However, no printing method can be better than Sublimation for a small company with smaller orders.

5) Choice of Materials

Folks love the way the sublimation method of printing works. They may have different requirements that are being met by this method of printing. Hands-on, Sublimation has tons of benefits.

But, compared with screen printing, you will find it a bit limiting. Why,  because using the screen printing method, you can print onto any material you want.

On the other hand, sublimation works only on polyester materials, or those materials where somehow the polyester Material is used, which are either white or light.

5) What are the limitations of Sublimation?

If you’re even a little intelligent person, you would already have caught one of the limitations of the Sublimation we’ve already discussed above which is limited material that it can be used to print on. Apart from that, the Sublimation can print in limited colours as well.

To get the expected results, You have to print on fabric that is either white or light colour. So, this is the most noteworthy limitation of the sublimation printing method.

Point to note

Wow man, I really appreciate that you read this article here. I hope now you know what sublimation is, sublimation printing and  tons of other things about it.

I think I have mentioned everything thoroughly about the topic. But still, if your mind has some doubts, put them down and I’ll be there for help.
Now, it’s your turn. Which printing method would you like to try? Your comments will be highly appreciated..
